Tax Included in product price. was created by Keian Collins
Hi,

I notice that there are a few posts dating back quite far, and I'm just wondering if this has been addressed?

As a resident of the United Kingdom, the price of a product set inside Eshop for example £7.99, should include tax.

For Example:
Product Price £7.99

Total Cost £7.99
Ex Tax - £6.66
VAT - £1.33 (20%)

At the moment tax is applied on top of the products price which doesn't work for us.

Regards.

Hello Keian,

I am sorry but EShop does not support the feature to enter the price include tax.

Sincerely, Giang

Hi,

Will this be a feature which will be included in the future? as this is very important for UK / EU businesses.

Without this feature I can only assume it will put off a lot of potential clients from using EShop.

Cheers.

Any progress on this? Would really like to use EShop on projects requiring it. Virtuemart seems to have a decent solution for this - is it really that difficult?

Is this still an issue with EShop?

If so it's unfortunate and renders my purchase useless as I will be switching to something like VirtuMart or J2Store.

Hi,

This is great news, Any idea on when this will be available?

Also as those of us from the UK bought it many years ago, including myself and have been unable to use EShop due to this issue, are we required to re-purchase EShop again or will we be able to download it without repurchase ?

Regards.

I'm curious as to why people want the tax included price?

yes, it's a pain to calculate the ex vat price and then add the tax class, but when VAT changes in a budget, it's a simple task to change the tax rate and all the products are updated. Using tax inclusive prices make this a royal pain.

Am I missing something?

This is because within the EU and UK specifically we are required to display products with tax already applied.

For Example if we were to sell a product for £20 the system would automatically calculate the amount of tax applied to the product based upon the price set.

Product Ex Tax: £16
VAT: £4
Total Cost: £20

Many other store extensions have this feature which is why I am switching client's over to them.

The pricing and unlimited domain licensing of JoomDonation products are the best, but EShop doesn't currently cater to our needs.
