Hi all, just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem.

On our site, most products have several options which are set by a script which interfaces between eShop and my stock control system. As most of the options are affected by stock levels each time the stock of a product changes, the options are re-made.

This was tested extensively on a development site and appeared to be working perfectly. The code was then used on our production site and again appeared to work correctly.

After about two weeks, the product options dropdown has just stopped appearing. No errors appear to be thrown, and correct values are in the productoptions and productoptionvalues tables. The tab itself is appearing but not the underlying data.

Extremely puzzled at the moment, so any insight would be most welcome.

We have restored the site using various backups and the product options are now working again. We have enough space on our server to take hourly backups of the entire site. Thus far (about 6 days) everything is working fine. We are checking hourly that the options are working and, as soon as they fail, we hope to pinpoint the area that we need to look at.
I'll hold off troubling you with a support ticket until we can be more certain that it is not my code that is messing things up - thanks for your response thus far.

We have finally found out why the product options stopped working.

It the site is set to not show out of stock items, product options are no longer shown. This is an unwanted side effect as we use product options to offer various options to our customers.

Is there any way that we can hide the out of stock products yet continue to display product options for the rest?

Hi Dennis,

I see that. Unfortunately, that is the way that EShop works now. If you choose to hide out of stock products, then if the option is out of stock, they are also hidden.

I have solved my problem by modifying my code to ensure that when an option is set it has the appropriate stock level.
