EDocman 3.4 is now available — stronger security, smoother management, and better Joomla 5/6 stability
We’re pleased to introduce EDocman 3.4, a release focused on three key goals: better protection for your documents, faster admin workflow, and more stable operation on Joomla 5/6.

Stronger security for uploads and downloads
In v3.4, we added a new central security layer that controls all document upload and download actions. This helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access and improves overall file protection—especially important for internal portals, customer downloads, and private libraries.

Better category management for large libraries
The Categories tree has been improved with stronger handling and a new option to keep parent categories expanded or collapsed by default. This makes navigation easier and helps administrators manage large category structures more efficiently.

More control over link sharing
Administrators can now choose to show or hide the “Copy document link” button on the document details page. This is useful for organizations that want tighter control over how document links are shared.

Faster daily admin work
EDocman 3.4 improves backend usability (including tooltips and the Categories filter dropdown) and adds the ability to publish/unpublish documents directly from the Documents table layout. This reduces clicks and helps teams react quickly when content must go online/offline.

Cloud integrations updates (Google Drive + OneDrive beta)
The Google Drive plugin has been improved for stronger security and better compatibility with newer PHP versions. In addition, a OneDrive plugin (beta) is available on request for users working in the Microsoft ecosystem.

Smarter Tags management
Tags are easier to maintain in 3.4: you can sort tags by the number of related documents and view the documents linked to each tag. This supports cleaner metadata, better navigation/search, and faster maintenance for large document collections.

Joomla 5/6 compatibility fixes included
This release also includes several important fixes related to Joomla 5/6, including module compatibility and backend stability improvements—helping reduce errors after Joomla upgrades. If you have questions about upgrading, or you want to try the OneDrive beta plugin, feel free to reply in this topic.
