Adding new files - frontend - wrong category was created by myshol
I have got whole structure build up with cattegories in Edocman.
I have got links to each category in my Main Menu as well, so users can get faster to specific files.
But when users are trying to add new files from frontend, those files are added in wrong category. Usually its a category one level above it should be or at root of its category structure.
It looks like problem appears if You get to upload form from Main Menu position (that links to sepcific category). Some values are missing and file is added to parent or root category.
How am I supposed to create links in main menu to get it work properly?
TIA

Hi
If it is possible, could you please re-download latest version of EDocman and upgrade it to your site ? I remember that there was some issues with front-end upload due to problem wtih SEF router but we fixed it.
So please upgrade first. If the problem is still there, please submit a support ticket so that we can check it directly on your site for you
Regards,
Tuan

But I do have got already 1.5.7 version of Edocman.
You are saying that there may be some changes in new installation file even if it has same version number?
You suggest to reinstall Edocman component?

Hi Jarek
Yes. Infact, we usually adding small features to the extension from time to time (and bugs fixes as well). But I will only release new version when there are major features added (still in re-write the new version with better codebase + new features at the moment)

I did as You said but its not working.
I have got documents category structure in Edocman, i.e.:
Department X
|- subcategory department X1
|- subcategory department X2
|- subcategory department X3
Department Y
|- subcategory department Y1
|- subcategory department Y2
|- subcategory department Y3
And some menu positions in main menu:
Homepage
Info
|- Gallery
|- Stuff
|- Download (link to Edocman Y3)
About us
|- Pictures
|- Documents (link to Edocman X2)
|- Related Documents (link to Edocman X1)
Contact
When I just want to see listed documents in categories it works fine.
But when I try to upload any file from frontend, there is some bug - in upload form there is another category selected and file is uploaded to wrong category.
I.E.
When I'm here:
|- Related Documents (link to Edocman X1)
and press Upload, it shows
Edocman Y3 category - in upload form

I'll se what can do about it. It's an offline project, available only through our intranet.
But this is really strange. If I create some categories in Edocman and one position in Main Menu that links to Edocman categrory, it works ok. Then path to categories seems to be like:
/root-name/12-category/45-subcategory
But if I'll create more complexed menu and links are like:
/root-name/category/subcategory
thern adding new file effects with error like described above in this topic.
I think there is still something wrong with router function in upload form.

I did a little research...
www.site.com/category/ 2-subcategory - upload form works fine
www.site.com/category/subcategory - upload form works wrong
/category - category from edocman that has a menu position pointing at it
/2-subcategory - default link to subcategory generated from edocman
/subcategory - a subcategory linked from main menu with menu position
Usually its uploading files to parent category.
