Restrict access to part of Joomla articles

I’ve pre-built a quite complex Website with several hundreds articles in some 20 categories. The site is not online yet, the main missing feature is a component like Membership Pro. Perhaps.

This is what I intend to do:
- Some categories should be visible to the public without any restriction at all (that should be the easy part)
- All other articles should only be visible in the first part, exactly till the "read more" tag that I have assigned to each text. Is it easy from within the Membership Pro settings to assign these intro texts with a mouse click? The documentation describes this feature as to mark text which should be restricted with special tags
Code:{mprestriction ids="1"} some restricted text {/mprestriction}
- Another point is, that those restricted parts of articles have to function with every one of three subscription plans I want to offer. The plans differ in duration only, the features/numbers of articles should remain the same. So I have to write the tag like this: {mprestriction ids="1,2,3"}. What, if I decide later in future to add a fourth subscription plan -- do I have to open every hundred article again to extend the tag like {mprestriction ids="1,2,3,4"} ? Or is there a "global" syntax like {mprestriction} restricted {/mprestriction} -- without explicit assigning a subscription plan ID? I hope that I misunderstood this part of your documentation.
- And still another question: How does Google index restricted content? Does it index it all? The idea behind this topic is if it makes sense to fine tune any details of the articles "in the name of SEO"

So just edit the plan, check on the checkbox next to each article you want to allow subscribers of that plan to access to and it will work well.
That method has a parameter called Protection Method:
1. If you set it to Prevent Access to Article Detail Page, then the article page will only be accessed by Subscribers
2. If you set to Hide fulltext from none subscribers, then the article detail will still be accessible, but the part after read more will be hided and replaced by a generic text such as You need to be subscribers of Plan X, Y, Z to read this part, click here to register....
So I believe that is easy to setup. If you still expect something easier, I don't know how we could make it easier

For Google, the system, unfortunately, prevent Google From Indexing these restricted content, too

This one looks fine.
In this scenario I have to select checkboxes on every article. And there are some hundreds of them. Great chance to miss one or have to reselect them again (several hundreds again!) if I would add another subscription plan in the future...

Hmm, perhaps something easier: Tell Membership Pro to handle every article within a specified category as hidden for public but available for running subscriber. That would reduce mouse clicks to one or three and everything would nice out of the box.
Selectable parameter im Membership Pro:
[ ] Hide whole article (Display no content)
[ ] Hide details only (Display till "read more")
So I believe THAT would be easy to setup.
Would that be difficult to build into Membership Pro?

Seems that I finally found a new kind of "AEC"

So I am waiting for version 2.9...

It was implemented (I don't remember I implemented it but it was from long time ago)
1. The plugin which handle this option is Membership Pro Articles Restriction.
2. The Protection Method parameter needs to be Hide fulltext from none subscribers
3. You can select categories/articles you want to restrict access in each plan
So basically, the setup is much easier now

this are good news indeed!
I am afraid the documentation hasn't been updated yet to cover this new possibility.
Thanks again for your fast responding!
