E-Shop Functionality was created by penguinhead
Looking to purchase Eshop and wondering about the following functionality:
1. Can the products and sales be managed from the frontend, or only the backend?
2. Is it possible to set it up so that you MUST be a registered user to purchase or add items to the shopping cart?
3. Does it integrate or work with Jomsocial registration method?
4. Can I sell fashion items where the user needs to select both size and color?
5. Does the system track stock and not allow someone to purchase items that are out of stock?
6. What would it cost to have a payment gateway plugin for MIGS?

3. No, there is no any integration between EShop and Jomsocial now.
4. Yes, this is the default key function of EShop. You can read about it here: eshopdocs.joomservices.com/catalog/produ...h2-4-product-options
5. Yes, EShop supports this feature very well.
6. You meant that MasterCard Internet Gateway Service (Australia)? If so, we will develop it for you with cost $50.

Thanks for that info. It looks like I'll be going with eShop, but two more quick questions:
(1) Is it possible for a user to have backend access only to eshop? ( I only want them using eshop in the backend and I don't want them to be able to access anything else!
(2) Is it possible to setup 'some' items for sale so that they don't even appear in the eshop unless you are logged in as a registered user?

Hello penguinhead,
Regarding 2 your new questions:
1. Only Administrator or Super Administrator can access to the back-end side of your side and back-end side of the shop. Customer / Visitor can only access to the front-end side of the shop to view and purchase product.
2. Yes it is possible. With each product, you can choose customer group(s) who can see the product. Only logged in customers who in that customer groups can see the product. On the other hand, EShop also has the feature to show price/add to cart feature only for for registered users. You can also use that feature for your purpose if you want.
If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to let me know.
Hope to receive your order soon.
Sincerely, Giang

Hi,
Although Giang already gave an answer on this question I would like to add my answer to it.
Yes, this is possible. Use the standard Joomla! ACL functionality to show/hide whatever you want.
Create a usergroup, i.e. 'Eshop Admin' and make it a child of the regular Administrator group.
Assign one of more Eshop administrators (your customer) to this group.
Then adjust the access level of all components, articles, menu's and other parts of Joomla! you want to hide.
You can even block access to some parts of Eshop, such as the configuration.
And allow access to Categories, Products, Customers, Sales, Reports and so on of the Eshop-component.
This makes sure your customer can't touch (or see) anything in the backend op Joomla!, besides the Eshop-component.
Hope this helps.
Best regards, Burt
