Taxes and Shipping by ZIP CODE was created by Steve Amerige
Hi,

Some things that we're looking for include:

1. Reject Shipping to Unsupported ZIP CODES: We're looking to take orders that involve shipping ONLY if the customer lives in certain zip codes. If a person comes to our physical store, we don't care where they live.

2. Tax by ZIP CODE: We are required to charge different TAX amounts depending on the ZIP CODE.

3. Shipping Charge by ZIP CODE: We charge different SHIPPING amounts depending on the ZIP CODE.

Does EShop allow us to do all of the items above?

Thanks!

Hello Steve,
Thank you for interesting in our EShop Shopping Cart extension. If you read the EShop documentation at eshopdocs.joomservices.com/ , you will figure out that EShop has Taxes and Shipping based on Geo zone (Geo zone is based on Zone and Zone is based on Post Code). So both of 3 features that you requires are allowed by EShop.

1. You can setup shipping methods to make them only available some geo zones (post code). You can also use Free Shipping method if customers comes to your physical store.

2 & 3. Yes, you can do this.

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Sincerely, Giang

Thank you for that quick answer!

I have some follow-up questions:

1. The price for EShop is $34.99. I use Authorize.net as my payment gateway. I didn't see this as a additional-cost payment plugin. Is this included for free?

2. I see there is an EShop Free Shipping Pro plugin for $20.68. Is this needed for what I need to do with my shipping requirements by Zip Code? (Please see my original post).

3. Are there any other things that might cost us additional money if we purchase EShop?

4. Is there an ability to take an order and allow me to manually review it before sending it to Authorize.net for payment collection? In my business, sometimes I need to call the customer to review orders and make CHANGES before sending it to Authorize.net.

5. Can I take phone orders and then put the information into EShop myself? That is, I'd take the credit card over the phone and the list of items the customer wants over the phone and I'd manually enter the information into EShop. Would I need to create an account for the customer or could I just place the order as a "guest" or one-time purchase?

Thanks!
Steve Amerige

Hello Steve,

That is no problem. Regarding your new questions:

1. Yes, price for EShop package is $34.99. It includes the EShop core, 8 shipping plugins and 5 payment plugins (Offline, Offline Credit Card, PayPal, Eway and Authorize.net). So if you use Authorize.net, you must not pay any more money for it. It is included in the package.

2. No, you don't need to purchase EShop Free Shipping Pro. Just need to use the built-in shipping plugins for that.

3. Basically, EShop package has all things you need. If you need some more things (Import tool, extra payment plugins or extra themes), then you need to pay more. If not, then $34.99 is enough.

Sincerely, Giang

Hi Giang,

Sorry, I just updated my question with a few more items. I'll put the new questions below.

1. Is there an ability to take an order and allow me to manually review it before sending it to Authorize.net for payment collection? In my business, sometimes I need to call the customer to review orders and make CHANGES before sending it to Authorize.net.

2. Can I take phone orders and then put the information into EShop myself? That is, I'd take the credit card over the phone and the list of items the customer wants over the phone and I'd manually enter the information into EShop. Would I need to create an account for the customer or could I just place the order as a "guest" or one-time purchase?

3. I'm considering your CSV import feature. But, I want to know if exporting is also supported. It would be very easy for me to export the data, make changes in the spreadsheet, and then re-import the items to update my shopping cart without having to do it with the GUI. Is this kind of workflow possible?

Thanks,
Steve Amerige

Hi again Steve,
I just saw some of your new questions so I will answer them now:

1 & 2. Currently, EShop only allow customers to place orders from the front-end side of component. It does not allow admin to create the order via Back-end side. So you can go to front-end side and place an order with the information that you collect from the client and go to back-end to manually changes the status once it is complete.

3. EShop CSV Advanced only support imports feature. The exports feature is already added to EShop core so you can export products, categories, customers and order to the CSV file with information in columns easily.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask me.
Sincerely, Giang

Thanks for the quick response.

So, for orders that customers place that I need to manually review, please confirm:

1. That customers will not be charged until I review the order.

2. I understand that I might not be able to edit the order unless I have the customer's login information. So, now I'm thinking that what I'd like to do is to be able to communicate back to the customer that THEY need to update the order with some changes. Is there a way for me to add notes to an order so the customer can read them and then THEY can modify the shopping cart and process it again? Of course, I can just send them an e-mail, but it would be nicer if the shopping cart system could keep everything (changes, customer notes, my notes, etc.) inside the shopping cart.

As a future feature request, I'd like to have a process whereby the customer can place an order and I can update the cart with changes and the customer would then need to confirm that they accept the changes. This is very useful for us because we ship out custom products and there typically is a lot of changes from the original order to the final order. We go back-and-forth many times before the the order is actually correct.
