Use of email sub address with OSProperty was created by MelanieB
Hi,
currently we use easysocial with osproperty and are trying to streamline the process to not just make it easier for our clients to sign up, but also get around the issue of having to use 2 separate email accounts. Currently there is one to access the site, then another to access the osproperty area for the company.
I realise the company has to have a Joomla account too, so we still have to capture that, so other than ask them to provide separate email addresses, could we use Joomla's Email sub address? I see others have been asking about similar process in the past. See here:
joomdonation.com/forum/membership-pro-ge...e-email-address.html
This is the link to Joomla's explanation as to how this works:
magazine.joomla.org/all-issues/december-...joomla-user-accounts
And here is a general article about using them from this year:
kb.uconn.edu/space/IKB/10731880518/What+...20email%20addressing .
However, I tried using the subaccount approach in the Company email, but OSProperty wont accept it. I don't think it likes the + so guessing it is set as an unacceptable character somewhere?
Is there anything in the code I could change to allow these sub email accounts?
To be honest, the company email will never really be needed as our clients won't have much need to login to their property dashboard as their properties are added automatically through a feed. And should they want to go in, then they only need their userID and password anyway. So a subaccount would be ideal, or some way to create a subaccount email automatically during registrations with a randon set of characters after the + sign (so there can be no duplicate emails) This could be taken from the registration email in the background so the user doesn't have to enter it maybe?
There was a plugin that allowed duplicate emails, but this is no longer available, and had potential to cause other issues being a blanket-wide solution.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Mel

Hi Mel,
Currently, OS Property doesn't have feature to use sub-email accounts like your idea. But we can develop the customization for you. Let submitting new ticket and we will discuss about it.
Thanks
