Eliminating the frame on pictures

Eliminating the frame on pictures was created by Jose Bueno
I am noticing that all the pictures are shown with a black frame. What do I have to do to eliminate this frame? The main page slideshow shows some filled, some with frame. Is there a picture size that will avoid this?
Where exactly are the medium files used?
