Allow users to create email alerts

Hi,

Is there any way a user can create email alerts based on their search preferences? I can see that they can save searches but no option to email themselves in any new properties get added that meet their criteria. These days this is an absolute necessity on a property site.

I know there is an acymailing plugin but I don't believe users can customise this to send what they are interested in?

Is there any module or plugin that would allow users to create alerts?

I know Techjoomla have a free plugin called Jmailalerts which allows users to select criteria via front end for a number of Joomla components and their documentation says plugins can be created easily for any Joomla component. Maybe one could be created for OSProperty if there is no functionality to do this in the current component?
