Hello,

How is the best way to manage discount on renewal of subscriptions? Say they subscribe for a one month subscription, if they renew before expiry they receive a 5% discount.

Hello Lene

Unfortunately, at the moment, Membership Pro doesn't have a feature to give discount if subscribers renew subscription before it is expired

We will try to add support for this feature in the future if there are more customers need it, for now, it is not possible

But it is!

Couple of choices -

set a fixed renewal price. Once they expire they can't access the renewal they need to effectively re-register do they not?

If you have a fixed expiry plan, you can include a coupon code in the renewal reminder email.

Hello Tuan,

It would be a great feature to have. I subscribe to several Joomla subscriptions and some of them do offer discount if you renew your subscription before expiry, it is a good way to attract renewals.

I see. It is possible to implement something like that. The idea is allow creating different renew options, each renew option will only be available if the remaining days of the current subscription meet certain conditions

If there are more customers need it, I will find a way to add support for it in the extension. Should not be hard

hi Tuan,
That sounds like a great feature to implement, in my case on fixed calendar plans we will be opening next year's renewals on 1st October and are wanting to offer an early-bird discount for renewals, say 10%, if received by 1st November each year. So if we could add dates to determine the discount that would be great.

Just adding my voice, this is a common feature and it does often encourage people to renew before their subscription expires.

Thanks for feedback. Added it to my todo list. Will be available in 2.8.x (we are going to have version 2.8.0 released in about one week or so and had no plan for this feature yet)

either a fixed discount or % would be great
i think people have good intentions to renew when they get a reminder of the end of their subscription , then if they are like me forget and let it slip , then never bother . A timed based discount would at least encourage members to renew if they think they can save some money
