Hi there

I would like to add and additional email address to Membership Pro so that when a member subscribes / renews the notification goes to the new email address as well as the Admin address.

I have tried adding the email address to
Membership Pro
Configuration
Notification Emails

But it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks
Eddie

Could be because you setup Notification Emails address in the plan, so the change you made in Configuration of the extension does not work? Could you please check that?

Thanks very much Tuan - yes I have email address in the Notification email in each plan. So does that override the configuration email Notification?
I will try changing in the Plans and hope that works Okay

I have another question - we use Paypal for payments - if I have a recurring subscription set up and I change the price in the Plan does that price change automatically feed through to Paypal so that the new price is charged when it renews?

Thanks

Hi Eddie

Yes. If you setup Notification Emails inside the plan, it will override the Notification Emails in Configuration. Basically, the setting inside the plan takes higher priority than the global config option

For changing price of recurring plan, change it in the plan only take affect for new subscriptions after the price changed. For existing subscriptions, they will only be charged the old price, not new price. If you wan to change price for existing subscriptions, please try to find these subscriptions from within your PayPal account and see if PayPal allows you to change the price from there

Tuan

Thanks Tuan

The email notification is working okay now - thank you very much

Re the plan price change - I presume for non-recurring plans a price change will take effect for future payments successfully?

One further question - when a member sets up a recurring plan and their card (held by Paypal) expires - the process to update the card seems to be problematical - how does this part work?

All the best and thank you again for your help.

Hi Eddie

1. For none-recurring plan, once you changed it, any new users subscribe for the plan will be charged new price

2. For update card in PayPal, this is not handled by us. Maybe there is a way PayPal allows them to update, but I do not know

OK Thanks Tuan

Would the Recurring payment issue when a card expires be handled better if we switched to another payment method? Stripe?

Yes. Stripe has an API to allow us to update credit card, so if you use Stripe, they will be allowed to update credit card directly on your site
