How to know what system emails/messages are being sent to members was created by Mark Larsen
I've looked through the documentation but am unclear about how I can verify what emails/messages are being sent to our members from Membership Pro. We have an ongoing issue with duplicate sign ups and need to see what Renewal Message and Reminder Messages are being sent as they could be contributing to the problem. I also need to know how to deactivate them as needed. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Mark
Go to Membership Pro -> Emails & Messages:
1. When user sign up, the system will send the email messages in General Messages tab:
- User email subject
- User email body
- User email body (offline payment) - in case users use offline payment method for their subscription
2. When users renew their subscription, the system will send the email messages in Renew Messages tab:
- Subscription renewal user email subject
- Subscription renewal user email body
- Subscription renewal user email body (offline payment) - in case users use offline payment method for their subscription renewal
3. When users upgrade their subscription, the system will send the email messages in Upgrades Messages tab:
- Subscription upgrade user email subject
- Subscription upgrade user email body
- Subscription upgrade user email body (Offline Payment)
To disable any of these emails, just empty the subject of the email and the email won't be sent
Does it answer your question?
Regards,
Tuan

I have a question on email, if someone signs up using PayPal does the membership send email to admin, the only reason i ask if they pay offline then I receive and email but not when they pay by PayPal so I didn't know someone had signed up.

Hello Philip
Yes. It will send email when someone subscribe and paid. If someone subscribe but didn't make payment (for example, close browser when being redirected to PayPal), then email won't be sent
So the main question here is did you receive payment? And what's the status of subscription record, is it Pending or Active?

If subscription is Active, then email should be sent already. To monitor the email, you should go to Membership Pro -> Configuration, there is a setting called Log Email Types. Choose to log New Subscription Email, then monitor next subscription
You can access to Tools -> Email Logs to see the email sent from system and you will see whether the email is sent to your email. If you see email sent but you didn't receive it, you should change Notification Emails to something else or contact your hosting provider, ask them to check to see why you don't receive email
