Multiple Membership Levels and Access to Kunena was created by Dianna Santos
I haven't been able to figure out how to make this work yet...hoping someone can help. Please note I am a Novice and self-taught Joomla user and can use all the help I can get.
I'm attempting to set up an e-learning site. There will be three membership options: Student, Auditor and Watcher. There will be upwards of 40 courses for participants to choose from. Ideally, participants will be able to sign-up for multiple courses at various levels, such as Class A as a Student and Class B as a Watcher and so on.
I have successfully created the User Groups and Access Levels in Joomla, set up the relevant access Categories and Subscription Plans in Membership Pro, restricting access to the relevant course material with each. This seems to work well. I have added the URLs for the relevant course forum topics to each membership level in Membership Pro, which also appears to work. I have also set-up the relevant access restrictions in Kunena (who can post vs. view only). This also seems to work well.
Here is the rub: if a participant signs up for two different courses (e.g. Class A as a Student and Class B as a Watcher), they are assigned to both Access Levels and User Groups, thus giving them the full access to the forum topics they have access to. For instance, Students should be able to view and post topics whereas Watchers should only be able to view the forum, not post or reply to topics. In the above example, even though the participant is only a Watcher in Class B, they are able to reply and post to that course forum since they are also considered a Student. Does that make sense?
Is there a step I am missing in Membership Pro to achieve this limitation that follows the Subscription Plan? Or is this a Kunena and/or Joomla ACL issue? Or, I am simply trying to do something that cannot be done (hopefully not)?
A completely unrelated question: is there a way to have the restricted URLs converted to buttons, titles or redirected to a menu of sorts? Right now they are just a listing of URLs. Would prefer to make them clearer/prettier if I could.
Thank you in advance for any guidance you can offer, it is greatly appreciated.

Hello Dianna
1. First of all, I want to take a look at your setup, so please submit a support ticket sending me super admin account of your site
2. I have feeling that you would have to setup so many user groups and access level in this case. For Class A for example, you would have to create:
Class A - Student
Class A - Auditor
Class A - Watcher
Not sure how you setup it at the moment, so I will have to look at it first
Regards,
Tuan
