Recovering from failed payment was created by Steve Baxter
I have Membership Pro set up to use PayPal payment only, generate Membership Ids, invoice and create the Joomla account. I have a subscriber whose Paypal transaction seems to have failed - there is no record of the transaction in Paypal and their membership status is set to pending. The subscriber has been in contact and wants to pay. Their Joomla account is created and active but not added to the 'subscribers' group which I have configured.
What is the best way to handle this? Is it just a case of sending an invoice from Paypal then when payment received using the admin function to change the status to active? Will this generate membership number, invoice and send the confirmation email?

Hi Steve
1. Yes, that's the way. Ask him to send payment to you manually via PayPal, then after you receive payment, login to backend of your site, find the subscription record, change status from Pending to Active. Then everything will work as expected
2. The other option is going to Membership Pro -> Configuration, find the config option "Only create user account when membership active/approved", set it to Yes
By doing that, the system will only create account for him when he completes payment. In case he doesn't make payment, no account will be created for him and in case he wants to pay again, just subscribe for the plan from scratch
Regards,
Tuan

Thanks Tuan - The payment came through Paypal so I simply changed the subscription record to active as you suggested. I also changed the subscription start/end dates to match the date of the successful payment as these we set based on the original failed payment.
I've also changed the config setting as you suggest.
Great support again, thanks
