Hi,

Recently I started getting this error message when a new user signs up with Membership Pro:

"Error The User example@mysite.com is not enabled"

Here's what happens:

1. After purchase, the user is taken to the "subscription complete" page
2. The user is still created and their account shows "Active" in MP
3. The Admin email goes out saying there is a new subscription
4. The confirmation email goes to the user
5. The user is added to the appropriate list in ACY Mailing

This is all exactly as it should happen, BUT...

The welcome message from ACY mailing is not triggered. It DOES work if I use an existing member to sign up for a new subscription, but it does not work if the member is brand new.

Basically this means that new members won't get their digital purchases (that are delivered via ACY). This is obviously a pretty big problem and it used to work just fine.

I am running the latest MP version (1.6.2). Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

Thanks!

Hi Dave

I am sorry but I am not sure we can check and solve this issue for you. Basically, at the moment, we will just add subscriber to ACYMailing list. We don't know ACYMailing trigger sending messages... or not.

We just use their provided API to add subscriber to ACYMailing. So maybe you should contact them and ask them why the email is not sent.... It is handled by ACYMailing, not by Membership Pro and we could not change it.

Thanks Tuan.

The problem isn't really associated with ACY though. The welcome email isn't being sent because new subscribers are not "enabled" somehow. I did speak with the ACY support and they said that the welcome message can't go out until the new subscriber is enabled.

In MP, the new user does show as active. Is there somewhere else I should be looking to see if they are enabled or not?

Thanks again

Hi Dave

What Members ? Members in ACYMailing ? If so, I edited the code alitle (without testing ) to make them enabled. Could you try to upgrade it, then test it again ?

Tuan

Hi Tuan,

I just installed the update you sent and did a test. The result is the same.

I get the "Error The User example@mysite.com is not enabled" message. The new subscriber is Active in MP, their Joomla account is created, they are added to the ACY mailing list...BUT, since their account is not enabled, the welcome message in ACY is not sent.

Where can I see whether an account is enabled or not? Is there any setting in MP that determines whether or not new subscribers are enabled?

FYI - If a new user subscribes to ACY using an opt-in form (i.e. and ACY module) then everything works. They are added to the mailing list and the welcome message is sent.

It just doesn't work when they go through MP...something isn't working correctly but I don't know what it is.

Thanks again for your help Tuan

Hi Dave

I don't know about it at this point. I think I will try to check ACYMailing API again, sometime at this weekend because I am too busy now !

So for now, I am afraid of you will have to wait for me.

Hi Dave

I don't understand. I think the message from ACYMailing is not that important ? The ACYMailing plugin is just used so that users will be assigned to ACYMailing lists and you can send them newsletters.

That's all how it is designed to work.

I am really busy now and could not take a look at it right away. Atleast you will need to give me 24 hours for support !

The ACY plugin is the most important part for my business. That's actually why I purchased the Membership Pro extension.

When a user subscribes in MP they are added to an ACY mailing list. This list has a welcome message that contains the digital product they just purchased. Some products are also delivered over a period of time...all from ACY. I need it to work!

Without ACY, none of my customers will get their products. This = lots of upset customers!

Sorry - I do realize you have lots of customers to serve. I've just been trying to get this solved for the last 2 days so it is becoming a pretty big problem for my business right now. Sorry for requesting your help when you are busy.
