Redirect page for member activation was created by jgribble
Hi,
So far so good. Just a few quirks. I tested the e-mail activation system. It works fine. Except, upon activation the user is directed to his account page. I want it to go to a custom welcome page. I think the place to do this redirect is in the membership plan/"Subscription complete url ". Correct? If so, do I put in a public url or will a system url or even ID work?
Second, why can't I e-mail graphics along with system messages to new members? For example, I'd like to include a small company logo in the thankl-you e-mail. OSE membership lets me do this and I like it because I think it adds pizzazz. Why doesn't it work with Membership Pro?
The images were deleted during send in all my tests.
Thanks,
-Jim G.

Another quick question . . . I'm using one login module for consistency across the site. So, in the registration page, I want to turn off the login option at the top of the form. I can't see a control panel setting for this, so I assume I need to delete some lines of php code. Could you possily direct me?
Thanks again!

This is the default redirect page for member activation. It's what happens after new user logs in. Where I can find the login redirect params in the control panel? Am stumped at this point. Also, where is the logout redirect param? Inputting a redirect url into the plan settings isn't working. I got it to work briefly in that it did go to a site webpage; but it was the wrong page unrelated to the url I used.
Now, I also don't want to show "Basic Settings." The information is irrelevant and just adds clutter.
Thanks again,
-Jim G.

Hello Jim
1. The Login/Logout page is handled by Joomla core. Please go to Extensions -> Modules manager, find the Login module, edit it to change Login/Logout parameter and It should work as expected.
2. For the graphic , please edit the parameter you are using, change Link Type parameter to Absolute (it is RElative by default), after that, edit the message, save it again and it should work as expected.
Please try and let me know if you need more asistance !

For everyone else who is experiencing this, I solved the issue.
It's an issue if you send confirmation e-mails with the activation link.
First, Membership Pro uses the Joomla core login module. It has to be published. In addition, you need to create a hidden menu item and configure the menu type as User Management/Login. The menu params will then allow you to input a login redirect URL and also a logout redirect URL. If you don't do this, Membership Pro will find the Joomla login module wherever it is; and it will use the Joomla default system redirect - which sends the user to the Joomla user details screen. That is the mystifying screen which I was seeing at the end of my test registrations.
This is now working on a new Joomla 3.1 site.

Thanks Jim for sharing the solution. That will be very helpful for other customers who have the same questions. Infact, this Login/Logout process is not handled by Membership Pro, but it is handled by Joomla core. Glad you can find out it yourself
