Manual membership was created by Stefano Bettega
Hi,
I'm trying to use this extension to manage user account expiration, without having the user to register on the web site.
Basically users require a subscription to a plan by phone, pay by bank accounting and receive an user ID/password by email, along with invoice.
I need to register the user on the site using only the backend, but this requires two separate steps:
1) adding user to joomla (core) users, assigning it to the category for wich he bought the subscription (categories are managed by Joomla ACL, so that EDocman will select documents the user can download within its categories).
2) creating a new user in MP, selecting the user from Joomla list, and assigning subscription start&end date
Is there any way to do this automatically?
Thanks,
Stefano

Hi Stefano
Why don't you try to register for that user from front-end ? When sign up for a subscription plan, you can enter their username, password, email... That should reduce the two steps into one step .

Hi Tuan,
as payment is handled manually and not during registration process, I would end up with a huge amount of users registered and not active, that must be then manually removed.
But if I include, say, a modified login form in a page that only administrators can view on the front end, I think it is possible to manage users subscriptions from the front end like you suggest. What do you think about it?
Thanks,
Stefano

Hi Stefano
I think it will be a simpler way to allow you to enter username and password of user when you create a new subscription record from front-end. I will think more about it. If you are not in rush, maybe you can wait me until next week so that I can work on this feature for you . I have some problem with my eye these days and could not work much these days
, so maybe you can wait me until next week. I would be happy to add this feature into the extension .

Don't worry Tuan, and take your time.
Site is actually being developed, so it's not a problem to enter data twice for tests.
I'm sorry for your problem.
Thanks for all your support, best regards

Update : This feature is now implemented into version 1.5.2 . Basically, when you create a new subscriber from back-end, you can enter username and password for that subscriber as well. The subscriber will receive an email contains their username and password...
So for now, if you want to use this feature, please download latest version from My Downloads section, upgrade it to your site in order to use this feature. There are also new feature which allows you to import subscribers from a CSV file. It is completed, I just need some more time to write detailed instruction .
