Ability to use short URLs was created by Rob MacAdam
Our eShop site has some pretty extensive categories/sub-categories, so URLs can get long and ugly. We've tried different Joomla mods, but they don't help with our eShop category/product listings. We need a eShop solution that will allow both original and a short URLs based on "Alias" of product (to be appended behind domain)...

On our old site, we used a Mod for OpenCart that allowed any link within the context of the sub-menu structure to work… and it worked wonderfully on Google searches/algorithm.

Hello Rob,

If you create the menu item to product directly, then you will have the link like that. How many products that you have on your site?

Sincerely, Giang

We have several thousand products, so that won't work. Plus, we aren't so interested in creating short URLs for menu items, as we are products, but categories would also be nice. Would you be willing to develop this feature? For a fee?

Hello Rob,

I am not sure if it is possible or not. Please go to the back-end of your site, then:

1. Go to EShop -> System -> Configuration -> Option tab, at "Add Category Path" choose No then Save the configuration.

2. Go to EShop -> System -> Tools -> Purge Urls

Then test again on the front-end side.

Sincerely, Giang
