Upgrade from old version to new version was created by Tuan Pham Ngoc
Hi all

From version 1.3.2, the upgrade is really simple (you don't need to uninstall the old version before installing new version anymore). Just follow the below steps :

1. Back up necessary files : Usually, you only modify two files :

- The css file (components/com_eventbooking/assets/css/style.css)

- The language file (language/en-GB/en-GB.com_eventbooking.ini) . This file is modified when you changed something via translation function of the extension .

2. Install the new version .

3. Upload the files which you backed up again to your server !

All done ! You now have latest version of the extension installed on your site !

Tuan

Where do we see the changelog for new versions? and where do we see the download and what version it is up to?

take for example ijoomla, you can easily see what the latest version is and also there is a link to a changelog

Yes, please make a changelog. There is software that can do that automatically as well

Hi all !

Changelog is alitle difficult for me because of the way I work with the extension. Usually, I work on it day by day . When I have a new feature completed or small issue fixed, I updated the download package right away without realeasing new version.

Right now, I am working on feature which allows adding events from front-end. After that, I will release new version (1.3.2 - office release). From version 1.3.3 and future version, I will have change log available !

Hope that is Ok for you !

Thanks,

Tuan

Hi there,

First of all, great component!

I just had a question about upgrading. I initially installed the event booking component back in Feb/2011, which at the time I believe was version 1.3.2. This thread seems to imply there is a newer version than this (1.3.3?). However, when I go to the Customer Area > Order History, there is only one download link, which is for 1.3.2.

Is there a newer version than 1.3.2, and if so, how can I download it. Thanks

ok good news. I am not sure of how you develop, but there are great software out there that can help with development and automatically creates a changelog from your commits.

Have a look how kunena, jomsocial, tienda, etc do their development. I know kunena uses joomlacode.org and tienda uses Redmine opensource software.
