Custom Tax Field per Event missing was created by Nic Ridder
Hello,
I am a user of the Event Booking software on my Joomla site. There used to be a field on each event that allowed for us to set a custom tax rate. This was helpful for us as some of our events were tax exempt, while others were not. This field appears to have been removed and all of our events, including our tax-exempt ones, are now charging tax. If this is by design that is fine, but a tax-exempt toggle would be helpful.
Just wanted to bring this to your attention, as we are currently resorting to manually issuing refunds on all transactions.
Thank you!

Hello Nic
The tax rate is now managed in Tax Rules Management. Please setup read the instructions at eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/basic-setup/tax-rules , setup tax rate for your event and ask me if you have any questions

Hi Tuan ...
With this new change, you at least need to be able to "SELECT" which tax rule to use for an event in the event setup screen itself. You have to jump around to too many places to get an event setup with the new method.
Thanks.

Usually, most events should have same tax rate, so you just need to setup one tax rule to rule them all ? Or you have different tax rates for different events?

As the previous user mentioned, some events are taxable and some are tax free.
If you have 50 events and you have to go into the tax screen to select each one ... after setting them up in the event screen, it's not user friendly.

Hmm, OK, I see. I will think about this use-case and try to improve it.

It should be a simple dropdown near the price on the event creation screen. If there are Tax Rules created ... just allow the selection of which one to use. Or if none selected ... don't apply tax.

@Paul
That would be difficult due to how tax rule is designed to work. I come up with a solution:
- Added a config option called Activate Simple Tax
- If that option is enabled, we will allow entering tax rate directly on event add/edit screen (like in older version)
I guess it will address this concern. If it is possible, please submit a support ticket so that I can send you this updated version for using
Regards,
Tuan

Thanks for your additional simple tax function Tuan.
To enhance your tax options ... would it be possible at some point to allow a TAXABLE YES/NO option on custom fee fields? Similar to what you do with DISCOUNTABLE YES/NO when you select that it is a fee field.

I will see. It is quite complicated due to the way fee fields work (and different types of registrations) which Events Booking are supporting
But I will give it a try
