Events that requires Registration first, then approval before Payment Requested was created by Thorlek
Hi,
I'm just wanting to know if this is possible to do with this plugin before I go ahead and buy it for my website.
Is it possible to create and event, and then leave it open for a certain amout of time for people to register.
Then once we are ready, we review all the people that have registered and then select the ones which we are accepting and ask them to make the payment.
If they pay, they are in the event... if they dont, then we will remove them from the event, and chose someone else from a waiting list to request payment for that position.
The events are markets, and we want to use the system to manage the organisation/sale of stalls at the market.
Thanks!
Matt

Hi Matt
It is not a supported feature. But there are some workaround to setup:
1. Only enable offline payment method at the beginning. So users can register at the beginning and do not have to make payment.
Later, when you are ready, send request payment to them so that they can pay to become paid/approved registrants of the event
2. Or use waiting list:
- Create an event with Capacity you want (for example, 100). Enable waiting list
- Create a fake registration records from backend, with Number Registrants = 100 to make event full
- Now, waiting list will be activated. Users can register to join waiting list
Then later, you can send request payment to the waiting list users you want to allow them to register to become paid registrants
I think these options should work

Thanks for the reply,
Option 1 might work... but Option 2 sounds better with the waiting list feature.
Would it be possible to use the waiting list option, but use an initial capacity of zero, to skip the need for the fake registrations?
Or does there need to be a capacity > 0 to be able to send out the payment requests for the people we are accepting?
Thanks!

Fake registration is still needed because when it is 0, the system will handle it as an event accept un-limited registration, so you cannot set Capacity to 0
