First Time posting - About creation of categories in a bilingual website was created by Patrick Toulze
Just like Joomla multilingual system starting with the correct settings of categories is the first primordial setup to build an efficient, easy, to work website.
Doing this step incorrectly will be really detrimental to the whole website experience later and really difficult to undo on a complex website.
I don’t want to make that mistake with setting up my categories in Even Booking
IMPORTANT: The site will be bilingual (French & English)
Overview:
I’m doing the setup for a company that sell extreme water sports equipments and give courses for different levels (Beginners to Pro)
- They also organized trials and events organized around these product locally and in other countries.
- They also organized events, demo and trips for groups or companies.
As type of events (or category) I can rapidly see these categories:
• For Retailers or eventual Retailers (Water sports equipment) — (They are Distributors)
and for customers & eventual customers
- Events/Course — Including travel when happening in other countries
- Courses ( Beginner - Intermediary - Advanced)
- Trials
Note: Eventually these retailers will probably have their own events/courses/trials booking and use the same system on this website
or the same system on their own website. (will be Joomla and will be Event Booking, to keep the experience uniforme (Maybe Joomla multisite capabilities..????)
• And for the other side of their business (this possibility is only for that website and that company, not for the products retailers)
- Events/demo for groups & companies (local, country wide and other countries)
- Simple organized Travels & trips (local, country wide and other countries)
I see that Event Booking have it’s own translating system integrated to Categories, Events and others functionalities of the components.
Tell me if I’m wrong... Thinking out loud....
1— I guess that even if the site is bilingual, I will only need to have one category structure and one sets of events as they have the inner capabiliy to be translated to other languages. No need, like Joomla, to have 2 main categories for 2 different language as everything is unique and separated in Joomla.
In Event Booking multilanguage is integrated in the Category or the Event itself.
2— Do you have suggestions in the way we can let retailers use our website (and Booking reservation system) for their own courses and events for helping them starting up.
— Ideally, they can also have their own website and booking system (but it will be Joomla and Event Booking to keep uniformity between the outlets)
Question: How easy it is to migrate their own section of Events Booking on their own website
Thanks in advance!

Hi Patrick
1. Unlike Joomla, in Events Booking, you will only need to create one category and event structure, and then translate it directly in the event page. See eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/advanced-features/multilingual
2. I guess you can allow them to submit events and manage their registrants directly on your site. See eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/fronten...agement/submit-event and eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/fronten...t/manage-registrants
