Categories and sub-categories was created by Graham S. Jarvis
Hello,
could someone please explain to me the purpose of setting up sub-categories.
If I set up a Menu Item "com_eventbooking » Upcoming events - Timeline Layout" (or Category - Timeline layput) I cannot simply select "BLS Events" and expect "Churchill Lecture" to be displayed as well. have to add the "Churchill Lecture" category in the options tab->Categories box.
Another way to have both categories displayed is to add "Additional Categories" in the Event Manager->Event Detail.
All this seems to negate the point of having sub-categories set up in "Categories". . . . .
Thanks,
-Graham-

Hi Graham
Actually, it is possible. You can go to Events Booking -> Configuration, find the config option Show Events From All Children Categories (under Themes tab), set it to Yes and it should work as expected
Regards,
Tuan

Hello Tuan,
this makes it VERY flexible:
If I want to have categories displayed that have nothing to do with each other all I need to do is to add those "Additional Categories" in the Event Manager->Event Detail.
And if I just want to display categories which are directly related to each other I set them as children (sub-categories).
I hope that everyone reading here recognises that this is the reason why we are more than happy to keep subscribing for this extension

Thanks again,
-Graham-
