Copy Event with same name + re-use an event + discount not copied was created by EllyZ
Hi Tuan,
Some more questions.
For our site we would like a user to manage events from frontend.
1. We would like to have 10 events with the same name, only date and/or time differs. Does this give any problems?
2. We woudl like to create one event with the name: "puppencursus" so that a user with an account with Special Access at the frontend (who administers the Events) can copy this event as much as necessary with the same name: "puppencursus" and change the date for each copy as needed.
Will this give any problems?
We have read the problem about deleting an event and creating a new with the same name, that's why we ask this.
3.Can we use an event from the past for a new event in the future. This give less work than creating a new event.
4. When we copy an event with discount, the discount settings are not copied.
The person with special access at the frontend has no privilege to add the disacount.
Is ther a way to solve this?
Regards,
Elly

Hello
1 and 2: Maybe it will causes issue in case the events have same alias for some reasons. Go to Events Booking -> Configuration, look at SEF Router Settings tab, set Insert Event ID parameter to Yes. That should prevent any potential issues
3. That should be OK. But maybe you should delete existing registrants of that past event first before changing the date of the event to make it becomes new event. otherwise, the event which you created (by changing the date) will have registrants from both old and new date. That could make management become confusing
4. Exactly what's the step you are using to copy event from frontend?

Hello
On this edit event screen, there is no option to setup discount settings and that's the reason causing the error
For this (to have discount settings copied from old to new event), some small customization to the code will be needed. Will it be OK to ask you 20$ for doing this customization?
