Event date and time zones was created by ozwest
I have users from all over the country (Australia) posting their events.

I just realised looking at the Google Structured Data that the TIMEZONE is always AWST where the server is.

Is there a way to set the timezone for the event? Well the users to pick it somehow?

Thank you

Hello

At the moment, we don't support selecting timezone for each event. We will try to support it in the future, but to prevent backward compatible issues, I guess we can only support for it next year

Hi Tuan,
we are in Australia too, and would also LOVE this feature. Being able to set the timezone would be so useful.

Even if to start it just displayed the TZ in any field where the date/time is displayed that would be a great start. Ideally it would be using the correct TZ to determine cutoffs.

We get complaints because we close off event registrations early as they are based on the TZ in one state and users in other timezones don't realise.

Thanks,
Russell

Hi Tuan
Has the Time Zone issue been addressed yet? I also need to be able to offer/set time zones.
Thanks

I'll add my vote to that this request.
We have events in 4 different time zones.
I accept the fact that its on the list and coming. It's a desired feature for us.

Hello.

I really have to up this topic. We are working on both side of the Atlantic and our registrants are getting tired of having to calculate their own local time for an event or miss the entire event entirely because of the comprehension. We really need at least a field that says what time zone the event is set and if it could show in the upcoming event module, that would be great,

The only fix I found online for this is to enter the time zone manually in the following input: Joomla Menu Components > Event Booking > Configuration > General tab > Event Date Format.

For U.S. Eastern Time, for example, you can type in the following l, F jS \a\t g:i a \E\S\T, so that it reads Tuesday, March 16th at 10:00 AM EST

It's better than nothing but yes, the time of the event should obviously be displayed in the time zone of the viewer, automatically. Especially in this era where every single event WILL be online!
