2 question on discount codes

Hey Tuan.

Couple questions on the discount codes I’m trying to implement. I could not find an answer in the docs.

1. What is the meaning of the mode “voucher”, as an alternative to “%” or “Currency” when you create a discount coupon ?

2. I need to create 500 coupons that are valid only for group registration and “per registration”. I understand how to do it manually one by one, but how to do it by the batch creator ? I don’t see this option in the batch creator, while I see it in the manual creator.

Hi Andrea

1. When you create "voucher", with the amount 500$ for example, users can keep using that same coupon until the remaining amount of that voucher become 0 (For example, first time, 100$ discount, then next time 200$ discount.... and so on)

2. Just access to Events Booking -> Coupons -> Batch Coupon Generation to generate 500 coupons code. The system will generate and use random string for these coupon codes. See eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/basic-s...oupons#batch-coupons

many thanks for the reply to #1 - clear now thanks.

For #2, the point is that the batch creator is able to create coupon strings with, say, basic satup. But my coupons shall be usable ONLY for Group registration.

When you create a single coupon by hand (with the function "New", under Coupons of the main menu), you can create a coupon with many options. For example, you create a coupon valid only for Group registration and not valid for individual; you can create a coupon which is valid for every registrant, etc.

These options do not exist when you use the batch creator, or at least I can't find them.

So, to "adjust" my coupons, I would need to edit one-by-one every coupons. Being them 500, you can understand it is not manageable.

Am I missing something ?

I achieve this by setting up one coupon code exactly like I need: my template coupon.

I then export the coupon codes, and open the file in excel.

I then copy most columns of my "template" coupon, and create the coupon codes myself (you could use random character generator in Excel for this, if you like).

I then import the file.

I have successfully done it this way for hundreds of coupons, but not codes specifically just for group registration, but I'm sure that'll just be a value in a column in the spreadsheet.

You can access to My Downloads menu item, download latest package, upgrade it to your site

Then you will see the option Enable coupon on which allow choosing it for Group Registration only
