Custom fields do not appear if applied to 'additional categories' on an event was created by Chris O'Reilly
Hi,
not sure if this is the same issue as this post or what the resolution was but it sounds similar.
www.joomdonation.com/forum/events-bookin...category.html#100367
I want to assign custom fields to categories, then use the 'additional categories' field to add certain custom fields to certain events. For example I have a number of custom fields to collect details of an 'emergency contact'. When I assign these to a 'emergency contact' category and add this as an 'additional category' they do not appear on the event registration. But if I assign them to the primary 'category' of the event they do appear.
Is that a fault or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Hi Peter
At the moment, we only show custom fields on the registration form of an event if that field is assigned to main category of the event only
We don't use fields if it's assigned to additional categories (I don't remember the reason of that decision yet)
I will see if I can support for additional categories. If Yes, I will add support for it in next release of the extension
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
were you able to support this feature? I didn't see it mentioned in the latest release notes.
Cheers

Hi Peter
Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to work on this feature. I will work on it next week and update you if it's implemented

OK. Just had the code implemented and update the download package on server with this improvement. You can access to My Downloads menu item, download the package, upgrade it to your site to use it and update us with the result

That seems to work well. I allocated custom fields to a category and they appear when I add that category as an additional one to a course. This is a big help as once set up I can then easily select what additional info to collect or discounts to apply simply by adding the appropriate categories as secondaries. Thank you for making that change and turning it around so quickly.
