Mass emails not being received by all registrants was created by Howard Betsworth
I'm using Joomla 3.8.8 and Event Booking 3.5.2

Typically, some registrants are not receiving the emails created using the mass email function. These registrants appear to be using sky.com and yahoo email providers.

You'd think it was something which the provider was doing. In fact, I think the sky service is run by Yahoo but I'm not entirely certain. However, these same people are receiving the confirmation emails sent to then on registering. They also receive other system generated messages from Joomla which come from the same email address.

This problem will occur when sending many mass emails or simply picking one or two.
Adding the email address to the registrants contacts doesn't work.

Hi Howard

Honestly, it's out of our control. We just use Joomla core API for sending emails to registrants (both on new registration and mass mail)

In case email could be delivered to most registrants but not some others, the only way is asking hosting provider to check it (as their mail server will be the one delivers the email)

I do understand. I only brought it up because some of the emails do reach the people the mass emails don't. I was wondering if the process included something which would explain this. In addition, all the other messages from other modules are reaching people which don't get the Event Booking mass emails. These would also be using the same core API. I was thinking it could be related to the act of sending multiple emails but the same issue exists when I manually send just the one.

Honestly, I could not think of any reason except the hosting provider could not deliver that mass mail somehow. Please note that most providers limit number of emails sent per hour (for example, 150 emails), so if you send too many emails, it might not be delivered to all of these registrants

Guess we should log mass mail as well so we can monitor it better. Will do that for the next release 3.5.3

Is this imminent? I've run out of anything to check. The people who don't get the mass emails do get the other system emails such as ones from Kunena and UDDEIM. As far as I know they all use the same Joomla function.

Hi Howard

I haven't had this feature implemented yet (might implement it this week). About they receiving emails from other systems, note that the difference is that Events Booking users HTML email while other system might use plain text email. That's the only difference I can think of

One example, Kunena, uses HTML.

On saying HTML though and probably a subject for another post perhaps but, when I send mass emails for an event the standar Joomla editor appears. Emojis work just fine but inserting Event booking information using the {eb } format (I think it’s a plugin) won’t work. Not even certain inserting an image works. I would expect that to work too.
