'New Registration for Event :... ' event creator email address cached? was created by Rick
Hi Tuan,
When a new registration is processed EB generates a confirmation email titled 'New Registration for Event : /name of the event/'
Does EB somewhere cache the event creator email address when an event is created?
I've been doing test registrations and the 'New Registration for Event : ...' emails have been sent to one of my email addresses that was used in website | Global Configuration | Server | Mail Settings when I created the EB event, and I initially had 'Send Notification email to event creator' set to Yes.
I have since erased everything from the 'From Email', 'From Name', Reply To email', 'Reply to Name' fields in website | Global Configuration | Server | Mail Settings., but still received the notification email to my address used in creating the event. That stopped when I set 'Send Notification email to event creator' to 'No'.
For reference, the website configuration email settings are:
Send Mail - Yes
Disable mass Mail - No
... addresses & name ...
Mailer - PHP Mail
In EB | Configuration | General Settings | Mail Settings the settings are:
Send Notification Emails - Enable
From name - /this name is correctly used in the notification emails/
From Email - /this works as intended and shows as the sender's name for notification emails/
Reply To Email - /this shows the correct email address as intended/
Thanks again, Rick

Hi Rick
So what's the problem here? You have Send Notification email to event creator config option to Yes, so the system send notification email to your email is expected behavior
Or I mis-understand your issue?

Hi Tuan,
Even though I removed the email address that was in the website Global Configuration that was used when I created the Event, it was still being used by EB when Send Notification to event creator was turned on.
Is that event creator email address hard-coded into the Event, or can it be changed if necessary?
Part of my questions here are about learning how to use EB, and another part is understanding how EB works so I understand why it does what it does. Like my earlier question about the New Registration email/messages; your answer clearly explained how it works and how to use it.
Thanks. Your support is great.
Cheers, Rick

Hi Tuan,
I did that but the 'New Registration for Event : ...' emails still are sent to the email address that was in place when the event was created, and now I need those notification emails to be sent to a different email address (which is in place in website | Global Configuration | Server | Mail Settings.) So now, nowhere in the editable email fields for the website Global Configuration, nor in the EB event Configuration is that original email address visible, yet the 'New Registration for Event : ...' emails continue being sent to it.
Is the email address used by the event creator stored in the database table for that event when the event is created? If so I assume I would need to dive deep in the correct database table to edit the email address value.
Is this correct?
Thanks

Hi Rick
1. As mentioned before, email of event creator can be changed. You can go to Users -> Manager, search for that user and change his email if it's needed
2. Also, edit the event, look at Advanced settings tab. There is a setting called Notification Emails, check to see if you entered an email there, if yes, empty it
Then it should solve the issue
If you still could not get it sorted, submit a support ticket so that we can check and change it for you

Hi Tuan,
Thanks, I had tried option 1 above, but had forgotten about the settings referred to in 2 above (Advanced settings tab | Notification Emails.)
If it's still a problem I'll submit a support ticket.
Cheers, Rick
