My Email Templates Are not Consistent was created by Justin Mooney
Hello There,
I am trying to get my email confirmations that get sent out to be consistent but it looks like some emails don't have access to the data.
For example;
When someone registers and choose to pay offline, the email that gets sent out has all the data in it. It looks great.
When I go into the front end and mark the member as published, the confirmation email that says the registration is approved gets sent out. That one uses [FIRST_NAME], [LAST_NAME] and [REGISTRATION_DETAIL] tags. These are the exact same tags on my other email templates. But Firstname and Lastname don't have any data. And the Registration_Detail only has partial information. It will show a table with the Event, Event Date, Price, Quantity and Sub-Total, and then it will show a section for Billing Info, but all the Billing Info fields are blank except for the Amount fields at the bottom and Payment Method and TransactionID.
I have tried using the Tags [MEMBER_DETAIL] and [GROUP_BILLING_FIRST_NAME] and [GROUP_BILLING_LAST_NAME] but none of them even register as tags. I don't know why some templates can access the data and some cannot. Can you enlighten me?

That's strange that you don't see all the tags. The main question here is that is it a group registration record or it is an individual registration record?
Could you please attach a screenshot of the email so that I can understand the issue better?

All my registrations I believe are Group Registrations. That seems to work best for my application.
I am attaching a screeenshot of the email as well as the Email Template.
Thanks.

If it is the case, I think you should approve the billing record instead of group members record and it should be fine
You can submit a support ticket so that we can check your settings before answering you further

Tuan

So, if I just approve the billing record, no confirmation gets sent out for the individual member records. If I publish the billing record and all the member records, I get what I got before where the confirmation email doesn't have the tags populated.
So, you want me to create a support ticket?

As of right now, we only send registration approved email to group billing records, we don't support that email for group members yet
So if you approve registration, please approve the billing record only. I will see if I can add support for that email to group members records in future release (first time receive this request, thought)

I can see what you are saying, but if I only approve the billing record, I am not getting the approval emails. Approving the member record gets me the email without the detail. It doesn't seem like it is working properly for me.
That could be because I am using the email field on the Member detail record, not on the billing record. In our situation, I could have one person do a registration for a number of other people, and I wanted the emails (mass mail, and confirmations) to be sent to each member, not the one who paid. So maybe that is messing things up.
Anyway, I will work around it. If you can think of something that I am not doing that I can do to make this work a little better, let me know. Thanks.

For now, the system supposes you need to provide email for billing record. In your case, you don't have email and that's why it doesn't work
So for now, the best way I can see is that you collect email for billing person and have the system send email to that email when it is approved
If not, then yes, you will need to use the workaround you want. I will see If I can make the system handles this user-case in the future, but it will take time to implement
Regards,
Tuan
