2 buttons - Register (Staff) and Register (Other) was created by johk
Hi,
I am just about to setup the Event Booking Component.
The booking form will be used at a school. What I would like to achieve is on the Event Properties page have 2 buttons - Register (Staff) and Register (Other).
The confirmation form for the staff will only have the fields First Name, Last Name and Department.
The confirmation form for Others will be the standard form.
The site is not utilising any form of user registration and will not accept any payments via the site.
Is it possible to set this up? Can I somehow “duplicate†the Register (Individual) and “strip it down†to only use the fields as per above?
Or can I modify the Register (Group) to suit my needs assuming that we will not be accept any Group registrations?
I know this is a “silly†way of handling the registrations but the school board doesn’t want the staff go through the hassle of entering their details as the person receiving the booking confirmations already have their details.
Thanks,
J

I have a similar need of having 2 different "classes" of event users for the same event.
My work around right now is to create 2 events - one for staff the other for the participant... you can control for each event what fields are shown and need to be filled out.
This works, but if we had a way to do what you say, that would be preferable.

@kohagen , @Johk
In this case, the best solution is create two events, one for staff and one for Other as kohagen explained .
One more tip :
1. If the staff is registered users, you should set access level for the event which you created for staff to be registered so that other users won't be able to see that events .
2. I think you even can create two categroies :
- One for staff (set access level to registered) .
- One for Others (set access level to Public) .
Then create events and assign them to the corresponding category. The idea here is that we will use access permission so that Public users (others) cannot see the events which only staffs can see .
Hope my explanation is clear to you .
Thanks,
Tuan
