Resource/Timeslot allocation during registration was created by RH
Hi Tuan,
I'm looking for feedback from you for a feature that we will need in the future. I'm not sure if this is general enough to go into the main eventbooking codebase, but it could be. If you are doing also custom development or take bounties for features, we could also discuss this.
Our use-case is that often we have events where the user has to allocate some resources along with the registration. The most typical example is that she must allocate a time-slot during the event. I.e. users register for a two hour event, but during the registration they must pick a 15minute (personal) time slot. This is a kind of cross between "service booking" and "event registration".
It would be relatively easy to put a combo box into the registration field with the time slots, but I'm not sure how ensure that a single time slot cannot be picked by more than one (or X users).
Do you think it would be possible to implement such a validation rule? i.e. something like "validate that no more than X user from the event picked the same value".
Would you be interested in developing something that allows this? We can speak about bounties, too

You might be able to do this with the "Quantity" option within custom fields.
NOTE: The screenshot is from a v2.0.2 install -- I don't know if the missing [EB_QUANTITY_FIELD_EXPLAIN ] description has been fixed in newer versions yet... If not, then " ooOOOooh @Tuan..."

You are right. The explanation is still missing, but using your pointer I've looked into the code and figured out how to use it. Thanks for the tip.

Glad you figured it out with the limited info I gave
I though it might work but didn't have a chance to test it myself.
Sorry I didn't write a more detailed set of instructions, but I was posting from work and had to run to a meeting.
