Shopping cart weirdness was created by Lonnie
When I put it in shopping cart mode, group registration is gone.. why is that? Also the buttons lose their styling when in cart mode.

We purchased this as a replacement for another registration system because it seemed easier for our client to manage ... so far we love everything about it.. but one feature the other had was group registration AND cart at the same time.. They basically have a week long set of events every year in May, so they want to be able to have group registrations as well as add all the events in the cart for a single checkout rather than having to check out a dozen times.

Is this a bug or by design?

Also how do we obtain updates for bug fixes? .. I notice a purchase I made in 2010 expired so I can't even get it anymore unfortunately... I'm concerned that will happen with this purchase as well

As you can read here the shopping cart doesnt support the group registration button as you should be able to change the quantity you buy by each event.

here

Howver I am having different but similar problem with the shopping cart.

a) the quantity can't be changed in the shopping cart in my case
b) I set up an event so that one user can register only once, but I need him to register for multiple events => I would like to use shopping cart. However, when using shopping cart, he can just register multiple times for one event by clicking multiple times on register (the quantity in shopping cart just increses by one).
Thus user is able to register for an event more times even with multiple registration turned off in configuration and with multiple persons registration turned off.
c) the shopping cart turns off the sync with users or community builder on the name (first and last name too), i.e. the loged in user has to fill in the name manually for the whole shopping cart order.

Thx for any solution or hints.

@Lonnie: Will work on the extension in the next few days so that we can have a config option which still make the group registration function available when you activate shopping cart. Give me few more days for working on it.

@OSindelka: Go to Events Booking -> Configuration, find the config option Prevent Duplicate Registration, set it to No and the issue #a and #b will be solved.

For issue #c, I will check it and get back to you alitle later

@ALL : I am having new year holiday at the moment ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_New_Year ) so I am slow on support these days. I will give normal support (24 hours for each support request) in the next 3 days. Please be patient and wait for me.

Thx for the answer.

Enjoy the holliday. Happy new year!!

The issue is as follows.

When I set the Prevent Duplicate REgistration to NO, the issue #a is solved. Users can change the quantity in the shopping cart.

The issue #b can't be solved in this way. Because I want the Prevent duplicate registration to be set to YES. So that every user can register for multiple events, but only once for each event. I want this to work also with the shopping cart. In fact what I want is to prevent the quantity to become higher than 1 in the shopping cart.

When I set it to YES (at prevent duplicate registration), the users can't change the quantity in the shopping cart by changing the number. Which is good. But they can just click on the same event registration one more time, and the quantity increases by 1. => thus the prevention of duplicate registration doesnt work when shopping cart is on.

both the shopping cart plugin and module are published. Its Joomla 3.

The problem with the shopping cart is that it doesnt make difference between multiple users registration and multiple quantity registration bought by one user.

That would be fine except that with group registration you can offer group discount rates as well as the fact that it allows you to collect information about individual group participants.. shopping cart mode doesn't .. the benefit of cart mode is you can register for multiple events at once =) ..

One other thing I've noticed is that the system doesn't show pricing as you go.. I added a fee field but the registrant doesn't know their total until after they put in their credit card information .. I personally would be very apprehensive about putting in my credit card information without seeing a total.

I also would recommend it would be nice to have ticket options rather than an event price.. I was going to set up fee fields to allow selection of registration type but then the event reads as "Free" .. if you moved to tickets like a competing product does then you have some flexibility there .. just a thought.

Unfortunately this has to launch by tomorrow so as much as I do love the component, I'll be needing to use a different solution... We will no doubt use this for future products.. aside from the few snags I ran into, it's a great system.

=> Confirmed the issue. Will work on it and get it sorted within 48 hours. The reason it is slow is because as you can see, I am still on new year holiday.

=> I will think more about it. However, to be honest, I still think that I will stay with the way it works at the moment. My idea is that the shopping cart will allow users to register for multiple events quickly. However, the suggestion for group discount rates is really nice, I like it and will implement it in future releases.

One other thing I've noticed is that the system doesn't show pricing as you go.. => This is a nice suggestion as well. It is important in case you are using a creditcard based payment method. It is a litle difficult because Events Booking support custom fee fields feature (quite flexible but complicated, too). But Yes, I will find a way to implement it into the system,

I also would recommend it would be nice to have ticket options rather than an event price.. I was going to set up fee fields to allow selection of registration type but then the event reads as "Free" .. if you moved to tickets like a competing product does then you have some flexibility there .. just a thought.

=> Thanks for your suggestion. However, I think I won't change the extension to make it works like that. For the Free text, the extension has a config option called Show Price Text for free events, just set it to No and It will work as expected.

Unfortunately this has to launch by tomorrow so as much as I do love the component, I'll be needing to use a different solution... We will no doubt use this for future products.. aside from the few snags I ran into, it's a great system.

=> Sorry I could not reply you earlier because of the new year holiday. If you still want to use this product for future projects, that would be great. If you need refund, please let me know.

Thanks for very nice suggestions :).
