Display of Custom Field options was created by 3by400, Inc.
Hello,

We are new to Event Booking and have pretty much "tried them all" in the Joomla environment.

We would like to create events that have the following characteristics:

1) Multiple options for registrations within a single large event, such as a conference (that's the event), with different educational sessions, lunch, t-shirt, etc, that impact the price of the event.
2) We wish for the end user to be able to select their choices for options (in #1 above) within that particular "event"...like "red" for t-shirt, or "chicken" for lunch, and allow different price impact for different options.
3) We wish to be able to manage number of attendees within each option selected. For example, if 100 of the registrants chose "marketing" for an educational event, and 50 chose "technical" for their educational event, we wish to be able to see how many registrants signed up for each option.

The issues we are having within Event Booking in regard to this scenario:

1) We have set up our conference as a category, then created individual events for each of the options we wish to offer (from our #1 example above). We then configured the "cart" option to allow the user to select multiple events within the conference category. Unfortunately, the options associated with individual events, which we placed in custom fields, display on the billing form, rather than as an option to select for each event.

2) Another one of our options is accommodations. So, we created an event called "Accommodations" and created custom fields for each type of accommodation (hotel, camp site, etc.). Each of these have a different price, which should affect the price that goes into the cart. We also need to be able to allow the user to identify the number of nights required for their accommodations....do we have to use the quantity field for that?

3) If we use the scenario in the #2 case, it appears that we have to enable "duplicate registrations", but we really DON'T want to allow multiple events. Is this the case?

Although we understand that some of these items are not essentially "events", but options associated with an event. We know that other Joomla Event tools allow these optional configurations. We're hoping we are simply not using the right approach with Event Booking, because we have big hopes that we can finally find a Joomla product that can really perform well and become our default tool!

Thanks,
The 3by400 Team
