Using Events Booking 1.4.2 with Joomla 1.6

After we register a student for one of our classes we recevie a Notice which says; "Could not instantiate mail function" and was wondering if it is possible to turn off or disable the email function within Events Booking? We do not need a confirmation email after a student is registered for one of our classes.

I was also wondering if we could turn off the "Email" field so it does not show up when we register a student. Could you add the option to remove "Email" from the billing options? All our classes are free so we do not bill anyone.

At the moment we have all payment plugins unpublished except for "Offline Payment" if we unpublish all payment plugins we can not register students properly. Is this by design?

Since we are using the "Offline Payment" pluging, after we register a student we receive this text;

"Please send the ofling payment via our bank account. Information of our bank account isas follow: Tuan Pham Ngoc, Ngan Hang Ngoai Thuon Vietcombank, Account Number XXX045485467 If we don't receive you payment within 3 days, we will cancel the registration and you cannot attend to this event Reguards, Events management Team."

Is there anyway to remove this. When we have students register for our free classes they receive the above paragraph and we do not want them to see that.

The attached picture shows what a students sees after they register.

Thank you for your time.

Hi

1. The extension does sent email to registrants after they completed payment. The error displayed means you don't have the mail setting setup properly in your Joomla site. If you want, you can submit a support ticket letting me know administrator and FTP account of your site so that I can check the setting for you . The email could not be optional in the current version of the extension .

2. The text for offline payment messages can be changed easily from back-end of the extension. Go to Event Booking -> Configuration, Looks at Messages tab, you will see the messages and be able to change it .

3. And Yes, even your events are free, you still need atleast one Payment Plugin published to make it works. That's how it is designed to work. When your events are free, there will be no payment method displayed to registrants and also no payment processing....

Hope my answers are clear to you !

Hi Tuan,

We did not configure any of the email settings since we are not going to use this feature for at least 6 months. I will configure the email settings now to remove the error. We have Event Booking installed to our internal intranet server for testing with no way of accessing from outside our network at the moment.

Thanks Tuan for the quick reply and information. :)
