event-publish date & no-registration-before date was created by tmacp
It would be great to specify an optional publish date for the event. Currently to prevent too many similar future events confusing a customer I have to keep them unpublished in the events table and hide past events. Then as each event passes, I publish the latest one manually. If I could select the publish date when defining the event, it would automatically become visible at the right date.
Also the event could be specified with a register-from date, opposite to the 'cut-off date'. Of course this would need to be explained clearly to customers showing the date from which they can register rather than frustrating them with a disabled register button!
Thanks,
Tes

A contractor of mine has hacked in a Date Available field for this purpose...I'd like to see this be a core feature, too, based on a client request. Thanks!

This would be a great feature, as not only does it prevent cluttered listings, it also has the effect of making registrants book more recent events rather than letting them book something far off in the future. This helps fill events by reducing overall listings.

Would it be possible to make it work with child events (reoccurring events). Kind of like how the cut off date works wit hthe reoccurring events. For example I make a parent item (event) for 05/25/2011 and have the cut off date as 05/24/2011 with the event reoccurring for 30 days. So the event on 05/26/2011 will cut off on 05/25/2011 and the event on 05/27/2011 will cut off on 05/26/2011 so forth and so on.
So what I am saying is if we make the parent event for 05/25/2011 to be able to be registered say two days before on 05/23/2011 that the child events will follow suit with automatically subtracting the two days from it and only allowing it to be up for registration two days before the event date?
