Order Statuses was created by Steven J
Could someone explain or point me to an explanation of the meaning of the different Order Statuses? System Configuration - Options allows us to select the status to be displayed (a) when an order is processed, (b) for the Complete Order Status, and (c) for the Canceled Order Status, but what do these exactly mean?

I understand from forum message #56506 that “Complete” means that an order has been placed and paid for and “Pending” means placed but not paid for, but what is the meaning of “processed"? Is "cancelled" a status assigned by shop administrator in Order - Edit or is this somehow automatically selected?

Before I create new order statuses that are more meaningful to me (e.g., “Order Received” or “Order Unpaid” or "CC Declined") I would like to know where the default statuses come from, how they are implemented and how I can mess up things by making changing. I assume, but don't know for sure, that some of these statuses have particular meanings attached to them by the payment processors. For example, does a payment accepted code result in "Complete" while a declined code automatically assigns something else?

Replied by Giang Dinh Truong on topic Order Statuses
Hello Steven,

EShop supports 3 status types of orders:

1. Order Status: This is status type of Order when customers place order but not paid for yet.
2. Complete Order Status: This is status type of Order after customers paid for Order.
3. Canceled Order Status: This is status type of Order after customers cancelled Order.

Admin can choose any status for these 3 type under Configuration of EShop. All of status can be managed under EShop -> System -> Order Statuses.

Hope that my explanation is clear.
Sincerely, Giang
