Good day,
I am enjoying Your product. Good job. I am setting it some recent days - quite self explanatory, well documented.
I have a great headake deciding which way to follow with EU VAT tax (so called "intra community supply of goods"). I have two options:
1. Disable 0% VAT tax by default, ask customers to notify me while account creation. Later on I could manually validate their tax id and assign them to another group of users (i.e. "vat-confirmed"). However, it conflicts with multiple billing/shipping addresses. 0% is applicable only for EU VAT registered buyer AND shipping outside my country geozone.
2. Enable the VAT and hope people won't provide a fake information to scam the VAT tax. Yet I'd have to manually validate each invoice and - if failed - I'd have to either cancel their orders and refund or ask for additional payment.
None of them actually seem to be a good solution - in either case I'd have to do it manually.
If there was a plugin that :
- gets the input of my VAT tax id
- and parses the results given on the official site:
ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/vatResponse.html?locale=en
while placing the order (validation may have different results for a same data in time, right?), it would be so handy
Please consider adding such a feature.
Brgds,
Mike
