Automatic Order Completion was created by Mike
Hope I can explain this properly!!!!!!
This applies ONLY to specific logged on customers........
If logged on as a particular customer, on entering an order, is there any way I can set this order to be automatically marked as completed / fully paid etc, where the invoice is created.
Reason for this is that I have a market stall where goods are sold over the counter.
I want to enter these to the website, so that eShop can keep track of everything.
I wa thinking of setting up a "special" user called say "Market User"..... When a customer buys a product over the counter, I would go to the website (logged on as "Market User"), and enter the order details as if I was doing a purchase.
I would then like the order to be fully completed.
I DO realise that I can go into the back end and manually "complete" orders, but this "automatic" completion would be a great benefit in reducing the steps needed for these "special" orders.
thanks,
Mike

Eshop lacks a point of sale system like this, as its made for online sales. However the idea you have to use a "sales counter user" would work. However, to have orders submitted by that particular user automatically marked as "completed" would require a code customization, which Giang may be able to do, or not, i cant answer for him.
Wouldnt it be just as easy to have your "counter person" logged in on two tabs in a browser, one on admin and one on the front side of the store, and either after each sale, or at the end of the day just mark all sales to that "customer i.e. counter person" as "completed" ?

Clifton,
thanks for your helpful comments.... of course, I realise that Eshop is not a POS system, and I am not suggesting it should be....
I had thought of the "counter person" manually marking the days orders as "completed", but this could be very tedious depending on the number of orders (since status change has to be done one-by-one ).... doing the status change on an order-by-order basis as they are entered could be tedious as well, especially if there is a number of customers lined up.....
I could write an SQL update to do the bulk status change directly in the database, but while simple, this isn't a great idea..
I have thought of simply having the "counter person" add every sale to the shopping cart, then checking out that one large 'order' at the end of the day....
another option would be to keep track of the individual sales on paper (eg 2 x product X, 3 x Product Y etc), then at the end of the day, creating one large order and marking it as complete....
There are various ways to do this each with their pros & cons....
The "add to shopping cart, and having one large 'order' for the days sales is attractive.... but if there is a website problem during the day, before the order is 'checked out', then that could be a problem as well....
Or maybe Pen & Paper to tally up the days sales may be the way to go, and then enter the one large order at end-of-day.
