File URL box for front end users

Is it possible for front end editors to access a File URL box as is available in the back end when creating documents?  Currently there is only an option to add a file.  However, most of the time we create documents with File URL's, not file attachments.

Hi Paul,
It will require small change in "Add document" form, you can submit ticket on category Edocman and provide your site url with super admin account so i can make that change for you
