Update edocman causes error while Upload was created by Volker Roeber
Hi. I´m using edocman and today there was noticed an update, which I installed.
Now follwing problems occures:
1. if I upload a new document it will be well done, but after upload and texting description the click on Finish-Button tells: 499 attempt to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy `PDF' @ error/constitute.c/IsCoderAuthorized/408 ...
Whatever: pdf-document is shown in directory well, but not more indexed ...
why?
2. new uploaded documents are not longer shown in module "newest documents" ...
pdf-indexing is a very basic-function for the projekt I use edocman. Anyone helpful tipps?

Problem solved - not a edocman-problem; it´s caused by ImageMagick 6+ on Linux
If this problem occures just log in as root on your server and type on console:
sed -i 'disable ghostscript format types/,+6d' /etc/ImageMagick-6/policy.xml
and voila edocman-errors doesnt occure in future.

This problem is not solved, I tried to forward the solution to my provider and this was their response:
we have concluded the checks, the problem is linked to a change introduced by recent versions of ImageMagick which has deactivated the possibility of opening PDF files for security reasons. In fact, this system previously made use of Ghostscript, which is a PHP functionality that is still not supported by our configurations as it presents security vulnerabilities that can potentially cause instability at the system level.
I therefore confirm that this configuration does not comply with the characteristics required by the component installed in Joomla.

Hi,
It's just a small add-on of Edocman to generate the thumbnail pictures from PDF files, so it need to run the command at system level to retrieve and create the pictures. If you think it's insecure with your Joomla site. You can disable that plugin. Actually, we don't have other solution to create the thumbnail pictures from PDF files. Therefore, we only have option not to use that feature.
Thanks
Dam
