Hi Haser,
A 413 Request Entity Too Large error occurs when a request made from a client is too large to be processed by the web server. You need to contact with hosting admin to ask them to solve this kind of issue.
Thanks
Dam

Hi
I already checked with the hosting company and the max was at 512M prior to attempting to add a new document. The component setting states that default is 256M. I also checked Joomla install PHP.ini and they are same as server 512M and 384M. I also attempted uploading with the Ajax Uploader, but still getting file too large error. File is only 161M. File uploading was OK up until a few days ago. Uploaded a file of 162M. No new components, plugins, mods or changes have been added or made in that time.
Thanks

With the error you described, the cause could only be server-side, I advise you to contact your hosting support to seek help.
Thanks

Have contacted them twice and was told to contact component developer because they have checked the PHP.ini file as well as htaccess file. Both have 512 and 384M as file size limits. I am able to upload to other components just not edocman. The file size is 162.2 M In the upload configuration it says next to the field (Default 256M INI)

What's the size of files that you uploaded into Edocman?

With that file size, you will need very high CPU resources. I advise you to use Ftp software to upload that file and then, select it for new Edocman document.

The file is 162 megabytes as I stated in my original post. Why is it necessary to use an FTP software when 256 megabytes is shown as the default largest size for Edocman? The Ajax batch uploader allows for multiple files which can exceed 161 megabytes, so why would one file which does not exceed default max limitation, "need high CPU resources?"
I contacted hosting company for the site and was told that Edocman was using a lot of resources on the server which was triggering a ModSec rule with the GET file function.
Using FTP the file was uploaded without any issue; however, the file does not appear in document listing, so it appears there is no way to "add it" to the list of documents manually.
What solution do you recommend to have a large file apppear in backend document list when file is added manually?

Hi Haser,
After uploading documents through ftp software to "Edocman document root path", please go to Edocman Configuration page, in field: "File Upload Method", please select option: "Choose file from server", then, when you add new document in Edocman, you will able to select uploaded files for your new document
Thanks
Dam
