Replacing a file was created by Robin
Hi there,
Oftentimes we need to update/replace a document that has been changed. The document has already been indexed by Documents Indexer. First of all, what is the best way to do this? I will outline our current process to see if it is the way to go. Also, using this process, the Modified Date does not get updated for the document.
Our setting for File Upload Method is: "Choose file from Server".
Replace a document:
Go to Batch Upload
Select the category that the document is in, select the Access
Upload the new document, using the same filename (e.g. myfile.pdf)
Give the file the same title as before
Go into document indexer, find the file and re-index it.
The result is that the new file keeps the same ID, but Modified Date is not updated in the database. Also, we have to find the file in document indexer instead of just trying to re-index all new documents (it does not see the document as new).
And on a related note, the created_time and modified_time in the database does not match the Created Date and Modified Date showing in Admin or front end. They are off by a day. See attached.
Thanks

Hi Robin,
You can install and use the plugin "plug_edocmanindexer.zip", this plugin allows you to index content of document without using PDF Indexer extension. edocmandocs.ext4joomla.com/modules-plugi...ocman-indexer-plugin
Once you replace new document, you can use this plugin to index content of document directly without re-index documents through PDF indexer component anymore.
Thanks
Dam
