Front end upload was created by Ryan Drewniak
When I upload a document from the front end, there are a couple features that I'm struggling with:
1) The user who uploaded the document isn't identified in the back-end (in the "Uploader" column of the documents section in the admin panel)
2) The user uploading the document from the front end is redirected to the default view of the category that said document was uploaded to.
For issue 1, can I have the logged in user identified in the back-end when they upload a document?
As for issue 2, is there a way to have the user simply redirected back to the upload screen when they successfully upload a document?

Hi Ryan
Both the issues can be sorted/improved. At the moment, I am working on some small improvements to the extension to make it easier to use for front-end upload. So please be patient and wait for me and wait for me until next week !
Regards,
Tuan

Hi
I believe the issue #1 is sorted in the latest version.
For the issue #2, you can submit a support ticket and I will ask my dev to modify code to redirect to the page you want for you !

Hello,
I just downloaded and installed the latest version (1.5.7) and it's recording the uploader when accessing the document directly (in the back end), and clicking the "Publishing Options" tab.
However, in the document list view (displaying all documents) in the back end, the "Uploader" column doesn't populate with the uploader. I did notice that if you check in a document in the back end, but don't check it out, the column is populated by the user who checked it in (in the back end).

Hi Ryan
Thanks for the information. I believe I found out the reason of the error. Could you please get this file, unzip it, then upload to administrator/components/com_edocman/models and check it again ? I believe it should work well with this modification.

Great. Thanks Ryan for confirming !
Hope you live my product and my support. If you haven't rated for EDocman, please spend few minutes to help us by giving EDocman your rating and review at extensions.joomla.org/extensions/directo...tion/downloads/18008 to support my development (hope it will be a 5 stars rating, hehe).
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
In the backend, the uploader will now appear ... that's OK!
Sorry, but the uploader is not displayed in the frontend ...: (
Did I miss something, or is it still an error?
For my users, it is important that your name is in the file ...
I have worked for many years with JDownloads ... from there they are used to it ....
do you see a possibility?
Thanks and Regards Uwe

Hi Uwe
At the moment, we don't show uploader name in the front-end, just showing it in backend for managing purpose. If you want to show it in front-end, please try to customize the code yourself to display the information. It should not be hard (this is the first time I receive request for displaying the information in the front-end, so I could not implement into the extension). I will wait to see if there are other people interested in this features. If there are few people need it, I will implement it into the extension.
