eDocman upload question was created by Marcello
Hi,
I installed eDocman on a Joomla 1.7 site, with CB installed (not sure if this is relevant).
The problem I have is that I get an error when I try to upload a document from the front end as a registered user.
This is the error I get:
500 - View not found [name, type, prefix]: documents, html, edocmanView
The upload works fine as superuser, but not as registered user.
Any hints to what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks!
Marcello

I am having the same issue as Marcello.
Joomla 1.7.3, no CB installed.
Created a user and a category. Gave the user full permissions to the category. Access on front-end is working as expected. However, when attempting to upload a document, getting the error:
500 - View not found [name, type, prefix]: documents, html, edocmanView

Could it be this line (line #66) in <Joomla Root>/components/com_edocman/views/document:
If the front-end function is trying to pull script from the administrative folder, this may be causing the problem. Perhaps not!!
Rick
Code:
require_once JPATH_ADMINISTRATOR.DS.'components'.DS.'com_edocman'.DS.'helpers'.DS.'file.class.php' ;
If the front-end function is trying to pull script from the administrative folder, this may be causing the problem. Perhaps not!!

This is a little frustrating. It appears as though this extension was not thoroughly tested, or this issue (and the CSS issue in my other forum post) would have been quickly discovered.

I solved it by setting the right permissions.
Go to "Components" -> "Edocman" -> "Categories" and select the "options" button on the upper right corner of the page.
Select the group your user belongs to and grant permission to Create, Delete and Edit Own.

I have had that same problem. I have all those settings set correctly and even as admin I get that 500 error. Then if you click on the home link in that error, I see a top message that the document was saved and it's there. It's very annoying though and would love to see a solution. Thanks!
