"State" Drop-down empty on Edit Profile page

After logging in and clicking to edit my profile, I get an error. When I look at the edit form, the "state" drop-down is empty. On the sign-up form and in the back-end, the state drop-down works. Any ideas what's causing this and how to fix it? Thanks!

Here's how the error message reads from my debugger:
"Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at MYURL.COM/index.php?option=com_osmembers...=state&state_name=IL . (Reason: CORS header ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ missing)."

Look like something wrong with the URL of the AJAX request

Please submit a support ticket sending us:

1. Super admin account of the site

2. An account which can be used to access to profile page

3. Link to that page

We are going to check to see why the issue happens and get it sorted

Could you please update to latest version 2.8.1, then check it again? If the issue still happens, please submit a support ticket so that we can check to see why it doesn't work and get it sorted

We are on verison 2.8.3, with the same problem that no state names are in drop down list. Will submit ticket now. Vicky

This started to happen on our install today.. very strange.. also on 2.83
