Sponsor's website opening in a new tab or window

Is it possible to have the sponsors website link, from inside an event, open in a new window or tab? Currently it redirects the user away from the event to the sponsors site. I'd like the event to remain open in a tab while they browse the other site.

please add an option in future releases...
would be nice for sponsors and referents, too.

In my opinion a hard fact for a feature which should be implemented as core feature.
