CSV is OK if you have someone using it that knows a bit, but not all my clients know how to properly open a CSV file in Excel. Or want to know. They just want a report.

Right now, the export function (for an events component, I believe this is a critical part of it) is very rudimentary. There should be options of what fields to export for starters (even I don't want EVERY field every time) and it should be able to be saved to PDF. I'm sure the "View registrants" link produces a report which is reasonably simply printed (to PDF).

Events booking is otherwise a great component, but sorely lacking in the export side of it. This has really come to a head with a new client we got. She just said a straight, "Nope! Not using that - too clunky. I want to be able to save to a PDF, plus I want control over what fields are saved." So, sadly, for her, I will not be using Events Booking.

I'd like to add my vote for at least a more customizable CSV export. In my case, I need the registration data to be imported to a sailing event scoring system. What I have to do is: Perform an event CSV export, then create another sheet in the spreadsheet that selects the columns that I need. In the case of name, I have to use the spreadsheet CONCANTINATE function to combine first and last name into a single string.

So, I'd like some options and filters on CSV export. Eliminate some fields, combine others. My ideal would be to have a filter that I could save that could be run against my event registrants and export the fields that I need, so I wouldn't have to use the interim step of going through a spreadsheet program.

I agree this would be a useful feature - normally, I will export, make the adjustments manually, then send it on to the person that needs the report. Having them be able to run the report without my intervention would be great!

I would like to see more customized reports; charts, bar graphs, maybe some logic via drag and drop.

I'm tired of SQL queries.......

I committed the unpardonable and edited the core files. I know it's going to cause me grief when the extension is updated; I'll either have to rewrite my inserted code or hope that the desired features are available in the next version. In the meantime, my front end (secured) registrant list now shows the Invoice Number before any columns are inserted from the ones designated in the form settings. This is because the client wants a separate CSV for every group registration. (I also inserted a column with LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME because that was one of the requested features. Yes, they want the moon on a silver platter. ) I then set a blank template to that page so that it's not cluttered with extra tables. He can then import the table into Excel (Data/Get External Data/From Web) then run a macro to move all rows with the same invoice number into a new tab. Each tab is then saved as a CSV that he can eventually use with Access. My life would be much easier if I could do all of that with a few clicks. More coffee, please!

I would vote for a suggest an export function in the front end and back that had a form that would populate any information from the registration fields with check boxes. You could select any field for export and event and generate the spread sheet.

Interamind had a nice, similar export function for Virtuemart.

I agree with all of the above but would also like to see all the group attendees details - not just the person who registered a group of people.

Are you importing into sailwave? This will be in my workflow. I have until May to sort a solution (or longer and fix in the CSV file for the club). Thinking of writing some form of plugin specifically aimed at sailwave. Will be very niche!

I'd suggest it would have a config screen that lists every field that SW can import and a mail merge type entry that lets you concatenate etc as required. Plus some basic filters to say only include fully paid etc.

If you are using a different sail results system let me know what its import options are and I'll see if I can create something to handle both.
