When I try to export either Donors or use CSV Export, both take me to a blank screen.

That's strange. Could you please submit a support ticket sending me administrator and FTP account of your site so that I can check it for you ?

I tried this again and it is now working. I believe before the donations were not published, which when I went to export the site went to a blank screen. Now when there are published donations, the export opens a csv file.

Yes. The extension only export published donors. So you will need to have at least one paid donation so that the export function works well .
